Episode 17: Leopard Tortoises – Are they the Worst Pet Tortoise or Sensitive and Misunderstood? – releasing 6/14

Animals have been a lifelong passion of mine, and growing up I kept everything from red-eared sliders, painted turtles, common musk turtles, and Chinese box turtles (Cuora flavomarginata) to iguanas and other reptiles. My journey into tortoise keeping took an unexpected turn when I bought my son a Russian tortoise named Batman for his fifth birthday. That single tortoise reignited a passion that eventually led me to acquire my first leopard tortoise and begin a deeper study of their care and husbandry. For the past four years, leopard tortoises have been my primary focus, with particular interests in localities, natural history, nutrition, breeding, incubation, and outdoor keeping. Through my YouTube channel, Pink Tortz, I share my experiences and connect with fellow keepers while continuing to learn more about these incredible animals. I am excited to join Wendy on Turtle Tea to discuss leopard tortoises and share what I have learned along the way.
