Hi! I’m Wendy Montroy, the host and creator of Turtle tea with TTPG. I had the idea for a while and after being laid off from my job of 16 years in Aug 25 I decided to use my extra time to go for it. I learned a lot about podcasting and audio editing, and am still learning. I’m a lifetime TTPG member and passionate about their mission to save turtles and tortoises through captive breeding. My goal with this podcast is to create a digital library of species-specific care info.
A little about me, I live in North Florida with my husband and son and our menagerie of turtles and tortoises. My oldest tortoise, a Greek named Willy, is 25 years old and we got him as a hatchling. We didn’t really get into turtles and tortoises until we moved from the DC area to Florida and could keep more species outside. I have Yellowfoots, Redfoots, Burmese Stars, Greek tortoises, Spider tortoises, African Helmeted turtles and Timor Snake-necks.
